Our story · Aura Viva
How a memory turned into jewelry.
A folder called “Mom”
Hi, I'm Samuel. One day after work, I noticed a folder on my desktop called “Mom”. It held every picture of my late mother, and it struck me that these images just sat there, collecting digital dust.
where it all started
I started thinking about how I could keep those pictures close to me in a meaningful, elegant way. I turned the idea over for weeks without finding an answer. Then one day Sadie, my girlfriend (and now our jewelry designer), mentioned she wanted to take a jewelry design workshop, and a light bulb switched on:
I went straight to work, convinced I'd whip something up within a week. Oh boy, was I wrong. Storage dilemmas. Chip sizing battles with the iPhone's weak antenna. Three manufacturers, two of which couldn't deliver the quality we needed. Design after design, prototype after prototype.
A year and a half later, we finally launched Aura Viva Memory Jewelry, and we couldn't be more proud.
