Frequently asked questions
All you need to know about your Aura Viva jewelry and gallery.
Product Use
Where is the NFC antenna on your phone?
The antenna is the area of the phone that detects the jewel when brought close to it. Its location varies depending on the model:
iPhone: The antenna is located on the upper rear part, next to the camera module. Because the signal on iPhones is somewhat narrower, we recommend:
— Placing the jewel against the upper rear part of the phone.
— Holding it still for 2–3 seconds before moving it slightly.
— Once the exact spot is found, it will work perfectly every time.
Android: It is usually in one of these locations:
— Next to the camera module, on the upper rear part.
— More centered on the rear, towards the middle of the phone.
General tip: Slide the jewel gently across the back of the phone without losing contact until the notification appears. Once the spot is found, remember it for future readings.
How to scan your jewelry
Bring your phone close to the jewel to scan it. Most modern phones detect it without opening any application.
It is important to keep the jewel pressed against the back of the phone while you search for the antenna. Do not lift the jewel during detection, as some antennas are small and require the exact spot.
You can also scan the QR code (if applicable) or use our compatibility checker to verify that your device is compatible.
How to enable NFC on your device?
On Android:
1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Connections, Connected devices, or Connection & sharing (varies by brand).
3. Find NFC and turn it on.
You can also enable it from the quick settings panel by swiping down.
On iPhone:
From iPhone 7 onwards, the feature is enabled by default. Just make sure to use Safari and that airplane mode is not activated.
What can your jewelry withstand (water, heat)?
The chip and jewelry are water-resistant, but frequent exposure to water is not recommended. Some stones may lose their luster with continuous humidity. Avoid swimming with the jewelry or exposing it to extreme heat (dryers, saunas, boiling water).
How to know if your phone is compatible?
On Android, go to Settings > Connections and search for "NFC". On iPhone, all models from iPhone 7 onwards are natively compatible.
You can also use our compatibility checker. Please note that this tool works primarily for Android; on iPhone, compatibility is guaranteed by default.
Who can scan your jewel and what will they see?
By default, anyone with a compatible phone who brings their mobile device close to the jewelry will be able to view your gallery. The gallery opens directly in the browser, without the need to download any application.
If you wish to restrict access, you can activate a 4-digit PIN from your gallery settings. With the PIN activated, anyone who scans the jewelry will need to enter it to view the content.
How do I set up or change my gallery PIN?
Go to Settings within your gallery and select Gallery PIN. From there you can:
— Activate a 4-digit PIN to protect access.
— Deactivate it at any time.
— Reset it if you have forgotten it: you will receive an email with a link to reset it.
Remember that if you have an active PIN and add guest editors, you will need to share the PIN with them so they can access it.
Can the images and videos be downloaded?
Yes. Within your gallery you can download content in two ways:
— Individually: by clicking on each file.
— All at once: by using the Download all button, which generates a ZIP file with all the content of the gallery.
How many times can the jewel be scanned?
There is no limit to the number of scans. The chip is passive and can be read infinitely many times without wear, provided it does not suffer physical damage.
What happens if my phone doesn't detect the jewel?
Try the following before contacting support:
1. Remove your phone case. Some cases, especially those containing metal or cards, can block the signal. Always try without the case if you have reading problems.
2. Find the exact spot of the antenna (see entry about NFC antenna above).
3. On Android, make sure NFC is enabled in settings.
4. On iPhone, check that you don't have airplane mode active and that you are using Safari.
We recommend using our compatibility checker before making your purchase. Please note that this tool is aimed at Android devices; on iPhone, compatibility is guaranteed from model 7 onwards. We cannot offer refunds for device incompatibility if it has not been verified beforehand.
How Aura Viva works
Do I need to download an app or create an account?
You don't need to download any app. Your jewelry contains a passive chip that, when held close to your phone, opens your gallery directly in the browser (Safari or Chrome).
To manage and edit your gallery, access it through the management link you will receive by email after your purchase, or directly from gallery.auraviva.shop/api/app.
Can I start building my gallery before the piece arrives?
Yes. Once your purchase is complete, you can start preparing your gallery immediately—uploading, organizing, and customizing your content—so it's ready when the jewelry arrives in your hands.
How do I find my gallery if I lose the link?
You can access it at any time from:
gallery.auraviva.shop/api/app
Enter the email address you used for your purchase and you will receive an access link by email.
What happens if I use a browser that automatically deletes history?
Privacy-focused browsers like DuckDuckGo, or any other browser that automatically deletes cookies and local storage upon closing, will log you out every time you close the browser.
This means you will have to log back in every time you want to edit your gallery. The process is simple — you enter your email and receive a login link — but if you prefer to stay logged in between visits, we recommend using Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) with standard settings.
Settings
What options are there in Settings?
From the Settings menu within your gallery, you can manage:
— Gallery title — the name visitors will see.
— Background color — customize the visual appearance of your gallery.
— Language — select the language in which the gallery is displayed.
— Layout — choose between grid or masonry view. The editing view is always in grid to facilitate content management.
— Gallery PIN — protect access with a 4-digit code.
— Live Mode — activate photo uploads by guests at events (Infinita plan).
— Change owner — transfer the gallery to another person.
— My plan — view your current plan and access your account information.
— Guests — manage guest editors (Infinita plan).
— Help — access this FAQ page.
— Log out — close your active session.
How does the PIN work and how do I reset it?
The PIN is a 4-digit code that protects access to your gallery. When activated, anyone who scans the jewel will need to enter it to view the content.
You can activate, deactivate or change it from Settings > Gallery PIN.
If you have forgotten your PIN, click on the Reset PIN option and you will receive an email with a link to reset it.
Important: if you have invited editors, remember to share the PIN with them so they can access the gallery.
What is Live Mode and how does it work?
Live Mode is a feature exclusive to the Infinita plan that turns your gallery into a photo collection point for events.
How it works:
1. Activate Live Mode from your gallery. A unique link and QR code will be generated.
2. Share the QR or link with your guests (print it, place it on a table, send it via WhatsApp, etc.).
3. Guests scan the QR or open the link and upload their photos directly, without needing to log in or download anything.
4. Photos uploaded by guests arrive in your drafts (not published). You decide which ones to publish in your gallery.
5. When the event ends, deactivate Live Mode to close the upload window.
Ideal for: weddings, birthday parties, baptisms, family gatherings, or any event where you want to collect everyone's photos in one place.
Important details:
— Only the gallery owner can activate and deactivate Live Mode.
— Guests cannot publish or edit the gallery; they can only upload content.
— There is a limit of 25 uploads per hour per guest to prevent abuse.
— We recommend deactivating the mode once the event ends for greater security.
How do I customize the design and appearance of my gallery?
From Settings you can adjust:
— Title: the visible name of your gallery (available on all plans).
— Background Color: choose the color that frames your content (Infinita plan).
— Language: change the language of your gallery's interface.
— Layout: switch between grid and masonry for the public view. The edit view always displays in a grid for easier content management and reordering.
How do I change gallery ownership?
Go to Settings > Change owner and enter the email of the person to whom you want to transfer the gallery. That person will receive a confirmation email to accept the transfer.
Once transferred, you will lose owner access to that gallery. This option is available on all plans.
Examples of use:
— A photographer prepares the gallery and transfers it to the couple after the wedding.
— A family member creates a memorial and transfers it to the long-term manager.
What is "My plan"?
From Settings > My Plan you can view:
— Your current plan (Essence or Infinite).
— Associated storage and content limits.
— The direct link to gallery.auraviva.shop/api/app, useful if you need assistance from the support team.
If you contact us, having this link on hand helps us quickly identify your gallery.
How do guests work? (Infinita plan)
With the Infinita plan, you can invite other people as editors of your gallery. An editor can:
— Access the gallery without needing to scan the jewel.
— Upload and add content to help you build the gallery.
Editors do not have access to settings and cannot transfer ownership.
You can revoke access to any editor at any time from Settings > Guests, after which they will immediately lose access.
Remember: if you have an active PIN on your gallery, you must share it with the invited editor so they can access it.
What does the Help button do?
The Help button in the settings menu takes you directly to this FAQ page, where you'll find answers to the most common questions about using your jewel and your gallery.
What happens when you log out?
Logging out will remove your active access on this device. To log back in, go to gallery.auraviva.shop/api/app, enter the gallery owner's email, and you will receive an access link by email.
Important: make sure you remember the email you used to create your account, as it is the only identifier for recovering access.

Total video duration: up to 2 hours (Infinita)

If a file is not accepted, try exporting it in one of the indicated formats.
What do we do with images and videos when we upload them?
We automatically compress images and videos so they load quickly and reduce mobile data consumption when viewing the gallery.
Images: They are resized to a maximum of 1,920 px on any side and compressed to 80% quality in WebP format (with JPEG as an alternative). Thumbnails are generated in WebP at 420 px.
Videos: They are processed with a maximum resolution of 1,280 px wide and audio at 96 kbps. The goal is for each video to take up around 60 MB for smooth playback on mobile.
In no case will you lose noticeable visual quality on mobile screens.
Can I exit the browser while uploading content?
During the upload: we recommend not closing the tab or changing browsers, and maintaining a stable connection to avoid interruptions.
During processing: you can safely leave. The content will continue processing in the background and you can return later to publish without any issues.
Can I leave my gallery unfinished and publish it later?
Yes. You can upload and sort your content and publish when you're ready. This is especially useful if you're preparing the gallery in advance, for example before receiving the piece.
Can I update or change the content of my gallery?
Yes. You can add, delete, and reorder images and videos at any time from your management area. Changes are applied immediately to the public gallery.

Technology, storage and security
Where are my files stored?
Your images and videos are stored in a top-tier secure cloud environment. The content is linked to your gallery through our database and is not accessible or visible to any member of the Aura Viva team. Your memories are yours alone.
What is stored on the jewel's chip?
The chip only contains a unique URL that points to your gallery. No photos, videos, or personal data are stored within the chip. All content resides in our cloud infrastructure and is displayed in the browser when a mobile phone is brought near it.
How long are my files stored?
Your files are stored indefinitely as long as Aura Viva is operational. We do not set expiration dates or unilaterally delete content.
That said, we cannot guarantee absolute eternal permanence. In the hypothetical event that Aura Viva ceases to operate in the future, we would notify all customers sufficiently in advance so they could download their images and files before the definitive closure of the service. Protecting your digital memories is our priority.
What happens if our cloud storage provider changes?
We work with a top-tier cloud storage provider to ensure the availability and security of your files.
Should we decide to change providers in the future, we will internally migrate all files to the new system, ensuring that your gallery links continue to function exactly as before. You won't need to do anything: no changes or re-coding of your gem are required.
We would notify you of the change, but for you as a user, there would be no interruption or visible difference.
✔️ As long as Aura Viva operates as a company, we guarantee that your galleries will be active and available at no additional cost.
Is my gallery private?
By default, anyone who brings a compatible mobile phone close to the jewel can view your gallery. If you wish to restrict access, you can activate a 4-digit PIN from Settings. With the PIN active, it will be necessary to enter it to view the content.
Refer to the Settings section for more information on how to manage the PIN.
